Introduction to Integrating Math into CTE Classrooms, Part 1
Learn how to integrate math into your existing CTE curriculum by identifying the mathematical concepts embedded in the curriculum, and learn the seven essential elements of an effective math-enhanced CTE lesson plan. Please note, this is part 1 of a two-part course on integrating Math into CTE classrooms. Participants must complete both parts 1 and 2 to meet the professional development requirements for CPE hours.

This professional development course is designed for new Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers who want to learn how to integrate math into their curriculum.
Part 1 in the two-part series defines curriculum integration and explains the relevance and value of teaching math within the context of your CTE curriculum. Participants will learn how to identify the mathematical concepts that are embedded in their CTE curriculum. Participants will also learn the seven essential elements of a math-enhanced CTE lesson as developed by the developed by the National Research Center for Career and Technical Education (NRCCTE).
In Part 2, participants will apply strategies to integrate math into an existing CTE lesson plan that includes the seven essential elements of a math-enhanced CTE lesson.
Please note, both parts 1 and 2 must be completed to meet the professional development requirements for CPE hours.
