Learn how to integrate science into your existing CTE curriculum by identifying science embedded in the curriculum, recognizing the scientific practices, and understanding the five core principles and six essential elements of an effective science-enhanced CTE lesson plan. Please note, this is part 1 of a two-part course on integrating Science into CTE classrooms. Participants must complete both parts 1 and 2 to meet the professional development requirements for CPE hours.

This professional development course is designed for new Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers who want to learn how to integrate science into their curriculum.
Part 1 in the two-part series defines curriculum integration and explains the relevance and value of teaching science within the context of your CTE curriculum. Participants will learn how to identify the science embedded in their CTE curriculum and incorporate the scientific practices as well as the core principles and six essential elements of an effective science-enhanced CTE lesson plan.
In Part 2, participants will apply strategies to integrate science into an existing CTE lesson plan.
Please note, both parts 1 and 2 must be completed to meet the professional development requirements for CPE hours.
